In Loving Memory of Sydney Langley

13 May 1913 Bethnal Green, London, England

6th January 2010, London, England

It is with great sorrow that we have to announce that our father Sydney Langley, (Solomon  Ottolangui / Abraham / Aaron / Israel / Israel / David / Menachem-Emanuel / Meyer-Meir Ottolenghi)  passed away in London on Wednesday, 6th January 2010, just a little more than half way through his 97th year.  He had outlived our mother Eve (Eva Kraft) - his wife of 64 years who died in 2000, all of his siblings and their spouses, his brothers and sisters in-law, most of the people he had grown up with, even some of the following generations.  He was the Grand Old Man of our family line and will be greatly missed by his sons, Alan and Bryan, his daughters-in-law, his four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and all who knew him.

He died peacefully in his sleep in hospital after a brief few days of illness, the way he wanted to go, as he had lived - quietly, modestly with dignity, without suffering and without causing others to suffer.

May his soul rest in peace with that of our mother, Eve, his adored companion for seven decades.
